Potato Dextrose Agar, Granulated

PDA Potato dextrose agar (PDA) is a growth medium used to cultivate fungi, specifically yeasts, and molds. It contains a mixture of potato infusion, dextrose, and agar, and is often used to cultivate fungi involved in the production of food, drugs, and other products. In the laboratory, a small amount of the fungal sample is placed on the surface of the medium and incubated at the appropriate temperature. The resulting colonies can be used to identify the fungus. PDA is commonly used in the study of fungal physiology and genetics and in the diagnosis and treatment of fungal infections. It is also used in the production of various products.
